Policy in Cinema: Gap between Advocacy and Implementation

The title ‘Policy in Cinema: Only on Paper? Or Is There Space for Implementation and Advocacy?’ reflects the central question that will be explored during the panel discussion. The panelists will examine whether policies related to the cinema industry are simply theoretical concepts that exist on paper but are not effectively implemented in practice.
They will also explore the potential for advocacy to promote policy implementation, and the impact that effective policy implementation can have on the film industry. The title underscores the importance of exploring the relationship between policy and practice in the cinema industry, and the role that advocacy can play in promoting positive change.
The panelists will also examine the ways in which policies can promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the film industry. They will discuss the importance of representation both in front of and behind the camera, and the ways in which policies can support underrepresented groups in the industry.
