The Longest Night of the Summer

An old man is living with the memory of his deceased wife in their old house. He feels safe living this way but his connection to his family has worsen. His daughter and granddaughter come to move him out and want him to live with them instead. The grandfather has to choose, he either goes on living with his family or stays behind with ghosts of the past.

The story was inspired by my grandfather's struggles when he had to move countries and leave all his belongings behind. I am deeply touched by how old people usually feel like they are a nuisance for their young family members. I wanted to make a film about this worrisome social phenomenon that is quite common all around the world. Fragile men and women totally cut off from their family's life.
