Synopsis

Snow Wonder is a documentary that explores cultural exchange, snow sports, and friendship. The film follows a top Chinese snowboarder as they visit ski resorts in Savoie, France, and two world-class snow sports athletes as they visit ski resorts in Jilin, China. Through smartphones, the athletes keep in touch and challenge each other as they explore the beauty of the powder snow and the harmony between humans and nature. Throughout the film, the athletes interact with local people and showcase the unique snow cultures in both China and France. The film also highlights the opportunities for development gained through cultural exchange and demonstrates what it means to be "a community with a shared future for mankind." It aims to give the audience a deeper understanding of how sports, culture, and friendship can bring people together and how we can learn from each other.

Director's Statement

This project was different to other projects that I've worked on, and i think that this felt like a true collaboration between the two teams. From the initial brainstorm ideas to the development of the storyline and script, right through to the shoot and the production itself, it was really nice to be able to work with them so intimately. The other thing that is really cool was that we’ve never been to Savoie, and they've never been to Jilin, it was nice to be able to see these places though different lenses.
