Director's Statement

With this film, I wanted to explore the cross-section of human relationships that will evoke people's emotions in a fictionalized manner, experiencing characters through their sense of understanding. "Pinky And Papa" exhibits how sometimes we as humans make our life mundane and believe in that idea of life, and suddenly or abruptly, things change around you, and that simple yet perfect life becomes a mountain within you. The film talks about the complexity of human relations directly on the very front of the border. Humans, they often operate on a personal but also a public level; human attraction has an obvious but also a hidden dimension. The story speaks to a wider tendency: a desire to categorize relationships, scrutinizing them in excruciating detail to shove them into spaces that don't, in the end, do them justice at all; it chokes the life from them altogether. As it happens through sadness with Pinky and her father at the end of the story.
