Synopsis

"Lovebirds" is a short film that explores the aftermath of a collapsed relationship between Masoud and his beloved fiancée Maniya. Their love affair was based on sadomasochistic tendencies and childish mischiefs that kept the flame of their love burning. But when the girl unexpectedly ends the relationship and leaves without a word, Masoud is left in a state of mourning, struggling to accept the end of their love and move on...

Director's Statement

Human relationships are like a seesaw. Lovebirds tell the story of the imbalance that can occur when two people are involved in a love affair based on destructive tendencies. Despite this, the two characters view their relationship as something exceptional, and while they don’t expect anything more from it, they enjoy it with all their hearts. However, when one of them decides to end the relationship, the other is left in limbo, waiting for closure or an anticipated future together. This film highlights the difficulties of accepting the end of a relationship. For many people, this is where loneliness begins.
