Director's Statement
As the director of this documentary, I feel a deep connection to FPC ANK's extraordinary journey as a Bundelkhandi ·rapper. His unwavering determination to share his unique voice and culture with the world has profoundly moved me. Through this film, I aim to bring his inspiring story to life and shed light on the challenges faced by talented artists like him. who defy all odds to pursue their dreams. FPC ANK's journey is particularly relatable in a country like India, where societal norms often dictate that success lies only in becoming doctors or engineers for a stable life. Growing up in the same town of Jabalpur, I understand the pressures and limited opportunities that can make it difficult to choose a path that deviates from the norm. As a young aspiring filmmaker who once studied engineering, I, too, have experienced the weight of conforming to the conventional path. FPC ANK's struggle to break free from these expectations and follow his passion for music resonates deeply with my experiences. In a country where politics is pushing us towards homogeneity of language, this documentary holds a crucial role in highlighting the significance of preserving the heterogeneous nature of languages and safeguarding our diverse cultural heritage.
