Jyotsana is graduate on Crisis Managment, Journalism, Psychology and Film Studies. She is a well trained on several fields of media such as direction, editing cinematography and sound from the Academy of Audio Visual Arts & Sciences (AA-VAAS). She participated in an Observational Documentary Filmmaking Workshop by Contemporary vision in collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation/Swiss Agency. She has worked on Himalaya Television, BBC trust “Katha Mitho Sarangiko”. She worked as a director in a short film ‘Against All Odd’ which was officially selected in the 5th NEPAL HUMAN RIGHTS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2017. She worked as an assistant director on a docudrama “Maya’s Husk Huspand (Bhush ko logne)”, which was selected in several national and international film festivals. She stood second in the short film competition initiated by DCA Nepal in the following year and son first position as best film at 2nd IAWRT Women’s Film Festival Nepal 2018. She underwent script writing training. She won Film grant initiated by Gograha Film workshop under the supervision of Deepak Rauniyar on 2020. She works as a writer, director, journalist and freelancer subtitle translator in a documentary film.
