Synopsis

Madan, a 55-year-old immigrant professor in the U.S., faces personal turmoil after a domestic dispute results in job loss and widespread gossip. Haunted by estrangement from his family and a deep yearning for his deceased parents, he finds a fleeting sense of solace in a dream visitation on a new moon night—just before his mysterious disappearance.

Nepal-based independent filmmaker Santosh Dahal graduated with a degree in screenplay writing and direction. His graduation short film, The Pledge (2016), screened Singapore International Film Festival. His following short film, The Mirage (2021), screened at Raindance Film Festival, MARTOVSKI - Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival, Tasveer South Asian Film Festival, Dhaka International Film Festival, won best narrative and special mention at Nepal America International Film Festival and Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival. His recent short film, New Moon Rain, awaits film selection results. His upcoming short film, On the Edge of Paradise and Shruti, is in post-production. He is developing his debut feature film project, The Flowers of Wild Sugarcane, selected at Busan Asian Film School, 2022.
