Synopsis

A young village girl, taken by her single mother to a Buddhist nunnery, must navigate an unfamiliar world of discipline and sacrifice, when she also has to face the heart-wrenching challenge of parting with her cherished long hair.

A graduate in Film Writing and Direction, Sundar Yonjon is a new and enthusiastic filmmaker from Nepal He has been engaged in film and audio visual for more than 8 years. He has assisted in many feature films as an Assistant Director, including a Venice 2023 selection Nepali Movie "THE RED SUITCASE”. "ASUBH ASHTAMI" is his 3rd short film and had won grant of Film Development Board Nepal - Story Bank. He is currently developing a feature length fiction film "DOLMA", which has also been selected as the winner of the STORY BANK 2024 Award.
