NIFF 2021 (Online) has come to a close, and its awards winning films have been announced. For the IFFS Don Quijote Award, verdict came from the 3-person jury panel headed involving Italian filmmaker and activist Laura Mancuso Prizzitano, Indian film activist Madhurima Barua Sen, and Nepali filmmaker and activist tsering Ritar Sherpa.

The Don Quijote Award is a prize from the IFSS – International Federation of Film Societies given in selected Festivals. The FICC Jury in each Festival is composed by film society activists from any country of the world, selected among the nominations from national Federations of Film Societies.

It consists of a plaque and diploma and the promotion of the film all over the world among film societies.

According to the final verdict, The IFFS Don Quijote Award goes to feature film ‘In My Dream’ – Turkey, directed by Murat Çeri

In My Dream is the story of a little boy whose father has died in a car accident, and he suffers from amnesia. His mother is in a coma in the hospital due to the same accident. Because he has no one left, he is sent to the village to his grandparents. Tariq cannot remember his past because of the accident, but he constantly has symbolic dreams that he cannot understand. A donkey hit by a car is found dead in the village. This donkey has a newborn SIPA. Tariq makes a connection between this donkey cub and his own situation. And he makes it his goal to keep him alive.
